The House of Noufal, designed by 3dor Concepts in Pazhayangadi, Kannur, Kerala, is a 2600 sq ft residence for avid traveler Noufal Charan and his family. Reflecting the client’s desire for a unique and surprising home, the design blends modern architecture with traditional Kerala elements to create a climatically responsive tropical dwelling.A distinctive sloping roof, nearly touching the ground, provides protection from heavy rains and harsh sunlight, while giving the house a unique form. The structure is organized on three levels following the roof’s slope, enhancing visual continuity. A central courtyard divides the living spaces into public and private zones, facilitating cross-ventilation and natural lighting.The courtyard, featuring natural boulders, floating stairs, and lush greenery, serves as the home’s focal point. Materials such as locally sourced tiles, steel frames, wooden louvered doors, and concrete flooring with inlay work were used. Reclaimed and newly crafted furniture with traditional detailing complete the interiors, embodying a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Area: 2600 sq.ft Year: 2022 Location: Kannur

Designed to blend aesthetic appeal with comfort, this residence offers a unique living space that balances openness with privacy in a residential neighborhood. The owner desired a bright, well-lit home with a form distinct to the locality. The architect responded with a white, canvas-like structure featuring rounded edges, reminiscent of stadium blocks stacked in a Tetris game. Inside, the smooth white finishes and furniture echo the building’s curvilinear form, creating a serene atmosphere. Crafted for Mr. Unais and Ms. Alisha, an IT couple seeking solace in the countryside, the house stands as a bold testament to modern minimalism. Its exterior, defined by smooth white surfaces and fluid, wave-like contours, evokes a sense of constant movement. Vertical slats filter soft light, while the lush greenery and towering palms create a sanctuary of tranquility. The interior radiates with natural light, intricate metal details, and seamless integration of private spaces, offering a serene and elevated living experience. Perched atop a hill in Taliparamba, Kerala, The Slab by 3dor Concepts is a 400 m² residence designed for a family of six seeking tranquility and connection to nature. The home features a striking RCC roof slab supported by exposed I-beams, complemented by full-height wooden louvered doors that enhance cross-ventilation and shade. Strategically oriented to capture panoramic views, the two-story layout includes a double-height living and dining area, four bedrooms, and a kitchen. A cantilevered balcony doubles as a shaded porch, while laterite walls and concrete finishes blend the structure into its surroundings. Minimalist interiors feature custom furniture, including a floating dining table and a sculptural staircase, embodying a harmonious blend of form and function. The House of Noushad in Tirur, Kerala, designed by 3dor Concepts, is a minimalist riverfront residence tailored for a family of two. Positioned to maximize uninterrupted views of the river while ensuring privacy, the design features a striking cantilevered façade that conceals the river upon entry, gradually revealing a serene fish pond and expansive water vistas. North-facing seamless glass walls invite abundant sunlight, while double south-facing walls mitigate heat gain. A metal staircase resting on a slanted wall adds structural character, and a cantilevered balcony offers a 270° view of the river and surrounding forest. The spatial layout promotes cross-ventilation and connects various levels, with bedrooms and dining areas zoned for privacy and river views.
